This group started in January, 2015
Art History is the academic study of visual arts : paintings, sculpture, architecture, etc. although we tend to focus more on painting in AH2.
We decide on our two annual programmes for the following year in October/November and members take it in turn to research an artist in depth for each programme and give a 45-minute PowerPoint presentation of at least 24 slides (with notes in Microsoft Word to accompany them).
We also occasionally watch documentaries and films which have a connection to whichever topic we are studying and sometimes we visit a local exhibition in Portsmouth or Chichester.
2025 will be our tenth year!
We will be looking at Landscape for our main programme and revisiting Women Artists for the autumn programme with a museum visit in June.
