Wu3a is a vibrant, thriving local membership organisation with a variety of opportunities for members to engage in. Our members draw upon their knowledge and experience to teach and learn from each other for pleasure; learning is its own reward.

It’s all voluntary, we have over 100 activity and interest groups covering many different subjects from Archaeology to Wine Appreciation and everything in between for our 1,000+ members to enjoy.

We are local, welcoming, social, friendly, low-cost and open to people no longer in full-time employment.

The u3a story

Founded in 1982, u3a is a UK-wide movement (based loosely on the French model) aiming to encourage groups of people no longer in full-time work to come together and continue their enjoyment of learning subjects of interest to them.

Locally run interest groups provide a wide range of opportunities to come together to learn for fun. Members explore new ideas, skills and activities together.

Waterlooville u3a was established in January 2006, Charity Number 1116807
